To maintain performances of ball valves and enhance service life, several tips need to be considered. 

 

1. Before utilization, passageway and body should be washed by using water to prevent remained slag or other impurities from entering into lumen of body.

2. When ball valves are off, some media are still maintained inside body and the body also sustains definite pressure. Before maintaining ball valves, stop valves before ball valves should be turned off firstly, then turn on the ball valves which require maintenance, to release the pressure inside body completely. For electric ball valves and pneumatic ball valves, power source and air source must be shut off at first. 

3. In general, soft seal ball valves use PTFE as sealing materials. The sealing face of hard sealing ball valves is bead welded by using metal. If pipe valves require cleaning, it should be cautious in case of sealing ring being damaged which may result in leakage in further. 

4. When installing flange ball valves, all of bolts and nuts should be fixed firstly, then screw all of nut up. If fix some nuts, then fix other nuts. Landscape may be damaged or broken due to uneven stress between surfaces of flanges, causing leakage further. 

5. If the valves need cleaning, the used solvent should not corrode cleaned parts. For gas ball valve, it can be washed by using gasoline. Other parts are just only washed by using reclaimed water. Remained dust, oil contaminations and other attachments should be cleaned up completely. If it cannot be cleaned up by water, alcohols and other cleaning agents can be used under the circumstance without damaging body and parts. 

6. Body and parts may be corroded and cannot be used for being stored in the open air for a long time. Ball valves need raining proof, water proof and damp proof. Blind flange should be fastened tightly.
